Also there are a few Naruto movies. They aren't Canon but they look nice .. the first one is pretty good and I like the second but the third is forgettable.

The movies are filler except for... I think the one called "the last" which is a sort of canon filler? Not necessary but ties some things up.

If you can skip the filler I say go for it but it's... A lot. And it's everywhere. I couldn't even finish Shippuden because of all the filler.
