I'm having a hard time to keep up with this. I miss mercer's dm style. Also the episodes are surprisingly long.

I've been struggling to keep up with this as well. I thought I'd love it. I think you're right. Missing Matt Mercer's dm style. I've heard some reviews on it that haven't really pushed me to dive into it all yet. I've only watched the first episode and a chunk of the second. Maybe when it's all over I'll want to watch it all at once, binge-style.

Man this is a draaaag to get through. I’m continuing where I left off, watching ep 3. It just doesn’t hold my attention at all and I find it pretty awkward a lot of the time but I’m determined to finish

When I found out these characters were coming back I hunkered down and finished this thing... And oof. Like it's mostly just ok (it does get better tho)

Lemme just say I'm super glad Opal isn't returning in campaign 3 sheesh. An impressive mix of stubborn and aimless

I have heard such not great things that I don't think I'll ever watch all this. I did check out recap/reviews of the episodes from one random guy on youtube to know some of what happened.

I've had a lot on my plate lately so when the first hour of this didn't grab me i decided it was a waste of my time for the night and turned it off to do something else

After seeing all the negative reactions to it i decided i made a good choice

From the other thread just now and it reminded me what I meant to post earlier (Im gonna continue to knock Aabria), the Opal and Ted scenes make me cringe so hard, they are horrible. I hate how modern their language is when they talk to each other. Halfway through ep4 and there was a good stretch of that and I hated it

Oh yeah for sure. I don't know if it's dm or player led but everytime ted has to interact with opal... Or honestly any charter interacts with opal it's either very modern Californian vibes or disappointed parent? I think some of it is a disconnect in the improv that is painting the dm into a corner though? If that makes sense. The Opal character doesn't give a lot to work with sometimes.

Although the characterizations Abria does for the fully established dieties of the world leaves a lot to be desired as well... Not to spoil too much but one appears who previously was characterized as being mostly silent or implied words but here she is just like "yo gurl you cray"

Just finished ep 4, I loathed the beauty pageant stuff. Could’ve been fun but it got annoying fast with the way Aabria did it. You can just tell when she wants someone to fail or (especially) succeed a role so she throws advantage at them and has them at random d6’s on top of that. I was already annoyed enough by it and then it got far worse at the end when she told Orym and whatshername to do something in the crowd to give Opal advantage since she rolled average so that she would win the pageant. It’s just annoying, what’s the point of rolls at that point

I did like all the one off characters everyone played. But yeah she really likes rolls but also railroading. It's weird.

Still crawwwwwwling through this. I dislike it more and more with each ep. It’s a weird combo of being so railroaded and yet so aimless, I don’t even know what the point of the story or their goal is? Or who the villain is?

Also every two minutes:

Player: I rolled an 11
Aabria: AHHH-MAZING

Player: *says literally anything*
Aabria: “#VIBES!”

I cannot take another vibes

The way Aabria treated Aimee was off from the start and kinda got worse and worse as it went. I couldn’t put my finger on it but just now read a bunch of discussion on how badly she was kinda just…bullying her and not helping her along as a new player and it kinda soured the whole thing. It was especially apparent in this last ep

I’d love to see them try this same mini campaign concept another time but for suuuuuure with a new DM. Tbh I’d like to see Liam in the chair if they don’t go for a guest again

That whole last battle is rough. Like it doesn't even seem like the series should end there but it does and she's like use the circlet there are no downsides at all it's literally the best option ever do it goddamnit and the players are just like "no" but she keeps pushing it. And then she finally does it and that's just the end of it lol. Also everyone doing sentimental rolls a lot. It was definitely a weird experience. But I'm glad I listened so I cared about the PCs more?
