Lonesome Road done:

Spoiler+

I just like the tone of Lonesome Road and Honest Hearts way more than the other two, but I especially preferred the environments. I don't remember MUCH from Honest Hearts at this point, but exploring Zion was a lot of fun and I remember really enjoying the story of the Survivalist. And Lonesome Road's looked great, I loved looking up at the tall collapsing buildings all around me and looking way down into those endless abysses under the freeways

1. Lonesome Road
2. Honest Hearts

Back to the main game. I'm level 50 now so things are...kinda breezy? I cleared out that radioactive vault with nothing but a melee weapon, which I never use + my melee skill is super low. Those radioactive zombie bois didn't stand a chance. I also sacrificed that group that was supposedly stuck down there in favor of that farm D: . Sorry! That farm's gonna feed thousands and I had no idea whether they were alive or not

I'm making strides towards the end game now and tbh...it's pretty satisfying to clear these long standing quests off my list (either by completing or by failing via betraying the faction). My problem right now is I don't remember shit, I cannot remember how bad Benny is, or Mr. House, or anything about Yes Man, or the Brotherhood or the Followers or Caesar or whether the NCR deserves to be turned on or not. I'm having a hard time remembering where I left all that, I even forgot it was Benny who shot me

But it doesn't matter now, I betrayed House by sabotaging his robots in that hideout. I pissed off Caesar (forget how) and went on a rampage through his camp. With those slaves walking around I can confidently say I remember him being v bad, so I didn't care about this at all. I just don't remember if there was more I wanted to DO first! It's frustrating. I found Benny as a hostage there (no idea how that happened) and ended up letting him go and run off into the wild. I've been playing the game like Telltale TWD's Lee from the start and modeled my guy after him, so it felt better than just killing him while he was tied up

I'm saddling up with the NCR going into end game for sure, I still don't think the game has really presented me with an option that was better than siding with them. Like...not even close? But again, I might be misremembering

Actually only just officially met the Brotherhood so I've got some quests to run for them for a bit before I finish off House or Yes Man or whatever and do this inevitable Hoover Dam business. Other than that I don't really have any other lingering quests

On an alignment scale, I feel like it's NCR = Lawful Neutral, Caesar = Neutral Evil, Yes Man = Chaotic Neutral

Followers might be the only truly good faction in the game

That's how!

Caesar wanted you to kill Benny and you disobeyed him.

Benny didn't necessarily want to kill you, he just wanted the platinum chip from you, which was House's storage device for his defense system and Securitrons. And Benny's intentions are to make New Vegas totally independent so there are no robots, no NCR or Legion. Which sounds nice but it also probably leads to total anarchy. This is what siding with Yes Man will ultimately help you try to accomplish.

I personally did independent but it was by mistake. I was really fascinated by Yes Man's dialogue and missions and ended up getting too far in to where I pissed off NCR way too much to proceed with them. My character build actually was specifically very pro-NCR, whoops (:

Nah that wasn’t it, I pissed Caesar off before letting Benny go. I didn’t even know Benny was at their camp until after I was forced to fight them all

aaaaand done!

Wow I really was very close to finishing before starting those DLC's/before taking this huge break. I'm glad I made it about as far as I could go before starting the DLCs but also sad I took such a long break right before the very ending, the ending cards would've hit different had I remembered all the details I'm sure. Oh well

Ending fight at the Hoover Dam was a cake walk, I breezed through it. Kinda weak tbh, I would've liked things to feel a lot more GRAND. It was fine though

As I've said, I was fully pledged to the NCR by the end. I got them to strike a truce with the Brotherhood so that was nice, I was worried they were gonna force me to kill them like they initially requested, I wouldn't have liked that

I think my ending was overall super positive? Everything seemed to work out pretty well, no real negative endings except for some Goodsprings folks not being able to afford NCR tax lol. I dunno, it was just the clear as day 'good' ending that I worked towards, I still wish I had a bit more to think about I guess. I wish my ending cards touched on more companions though, it only mentioned like three of them. Nothing on Gannon, Felicia Day (forget her name and never found her again once I resumed), and my boy BOONE! Who I also never saw once since resuming. Sad. Weird that I didn't get an update on Benny either

I killed House, turned away from Yes Man, and wiped out Caesar and the other baddies. Oh and I saved the President from three assassination attempts (didn't get that "You'll know it when it happens" achievement for it though for some reason. That was a fun little section

Great game overall. I don't ever see myself replaying tbh. I don't really enjoy doing other play throughs of these big decision/multiple ending games. I love that the choices exist and that different endings exist, but I feel WEIRD playing any of them again (Telltales, LIS, Bioshock, this), because they myyyy ending feels...fake? Does that make sense? I don't enjoy doing another playthrough with a much different ending cause then I'm like...which one was MY ending now! It makes it feel cheaper in a way to me, I dunno. I don't even really like watching them on Youtube half the time, unless I'm really curious about something

Reallyyyyy don't like how I can't continue to play after the final mission. Hate it in fact! I wish I could just bop around fighting high level enemies that are roaming. I would've loved it if the map shifted in some major (or even minor) way based on my ending so I could exist in the new world that I helped form. Seems like a no brainer, really surprised you can't do that. Especially since there's more achievements to get and surely some more hidden unmarked quests for me to find

Will definitely play Fallout 3 and 4 sometime, though preparing for maybe a dip in quality compared to NV

That's.... odd about the companions because you absolutely should have got slides about them all. I'm thinking you didn't complete their personal quest and that's why. But I could have sworn some of them (Boone for one) have their fates decided on whether or not you did the quest.

I'm the same way. NV is one of my favorite games but I only ever finished it once, same with FO4. Started plenty of new games fucking around, but never seriously pursuing the end and never really deterring much from my original choices. I'll almost always just open up the wikia when I'm done with a multi choice game and see what I missed out on.

I think you'll really enjoy 4 a lot more based off what you said honestly. It gets a lot of flack but I don't think it's a bad game at all. I would say it's very great actually. Think the hardcore NV crowd just hates it because the story telling isn't as deep. But these are the same ones who are massacring the show over some very minor things. There's a lot more factions to choose from and the companions are a lot more fleshed out. And you CAN play after it ends!
