The group were standing right next to a souvenir shop when a guide marched over.
"Good morning, ladies and gentlemen." The man said with a smile. "I am Gum Shan, I'll be guiding you through all the areas of Chinatown during this wonderful tour."
Gum Shan took the group with them to various streets and shops. The narrator hasn't been there himself, so he doesn't know whether there's actual temples here or not. Let's just say there is. Gum Shan showed them a very tiny temple.
"Long time ago, Chinese men with gold-rush fever flooded into California." He smiled.
"Leaving behind their wives and children. Working for years to complete the transcontinental railroad, saving all their pennies."
They continued, entering a very suspicious backstreet.
"And then they sent for their families to help build this beautiful Chinatown."
As the guide continued to talk, windows were shut and doors were closed. A group of people entered into the scene, carrying a casket of some sort.
"What is it? A parade?" Someone from the group asked.
"A funeral." Gum Shan explained. "They're Chang Sings."
"They're what?" Someone else asked, confused.
"Don't panic. They're OK. They're good guys." The guide explained.
"Maybe we should try a different alley?" Someone asks nervously.
"Gum Shan, these guys, these Sing Dings." Another guy butts in. "They got enemies?"
"Wing Kong."
"Who wear red turbans?"
"Holy shit!"
A fight between Wing Kong and Chang Sing suddenly break out, the two groups attack each other with the intent to kill. One of the Wing Kongs points a machine gun at the group and guns down Gum Shan. The remaining 18 from the group run for cover, and end up in an old abandoned laundromat. The group takes a breather while the bloodbath continues outside.
It is now Day 1.
With 18 alive, it will take 10 to lynch. The day will end on Wednesday 9 pm EST, approximately 24 hours from now. Plurality is in effect. | | |
