Who is ready to see how this boring and totally non-controversial leg came out?

Teams set out from the oceanside city of Lisbon to the central European cultural center of Vienna. Teams were once again faced with a flight decision! Two potential itineraries emerged:

Itinerary one leaves Lisbon at 13:05, had a 3 hour, 55 minute layover in Zurich, Switzerland and is scheduled to arrive at 21:15. This flight path carries all teams EXCEPT Cody & Nav.

Itinerary two leaves Lisbon at 10:55, has a 5 hour layover in Brussels, and is scheduled to arrive at 21:45. This flight path only carries Cody & Nav.

Per FE's TAR rules, itinerary 1 has a 10% chance at a two hour delay. The safe route panned out great for Cody & Nav last round but could prove disastrous if rolled out of their favor. Let's see what happened.

No! All planes will arrive on schedule.

Flight one arrives on time at 21:15, and teams quickly found their cars to drive themselves from Vienna to Salzburg. Thirty minutes later Cody & Nav touched down and began their quest to catch up the 30 minute deficit. Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on the POV), nobody encountered any traffic! It was smooth sailing into Salzburg.

Roland & Sadiq made it into town first, followed by Vern & Tib, Jake & Dyl, TT & Stargate, and then Nick & Pat bringing up the rear of plane 1. Cody & Nav made up six minutes on the second to last team by picking a quicker route.

At the peaceful and calm detour, half of the teams chose to eat PRETZELS while the other half chose PUZZLES. All the pretzel teams achieved the maximum tally, giving them a detour time of 10 minutes. From flight one, Roland & Sadiq finished the puzzles in 13 minutes while TT & Stargate finished in 16. Cody & Nav finished their puzzles in a collective 9 minutes, once again narrowing the gap!

In their first public transportation choice of the leg, we again had a 50/50 split. Ro/Sadiq, TT/Star, and Vern/TiB all chose to take the short two-minute trip across the river to Mozart's residence while the other three teams walked thr 10 minutes in the fresh Austrian air!

At the roadblock, teams were faced with a classical music challenge! They studied ten of Mozart's most recognizable songs and were told to rearrange them in chronological order. To the surprise of everyone, possibly including himself, Vern absolutely aced this challenge taking a miniscule 8 minutes to complete!

Roland was only minutes behind Vern setting up a race to the pit stop. If Vern & TiB chose a taxi then Vern would lead his team to the victory. Otherwise they would have needed Roland/Sadiq to also take a slower transportation option.
