This has been an idea I've been kicking around for a bit. lol

It's Saturday night.

You've got nothing going on.

You're not tired, but it's too early to go to bed anyway.

You've watched everything on Netflix. You've caught up on all of your television series.

You turn on your tv anyway. Maybe you'll come across something interesting this late in the evening.

So begins the channel surfing.

Click. Click. Click.

Click.

Hmmm, what's this? You think to yourself as you land on some old show with some people --- family members maybe? --- standing and talking in their kitchen about what appears to be some comedic situation.

You give a slight chuckle when you hear the laughter coming through the screen.
Is that a real audience? you wonder.

Sitcoms.
Situation Comedy.

A classic staple in the history of television. Almost extinct these days, but with dedicated tv channels bringing you shows like this every day, they will never go away completely.

You decide to stick with this show, you think you may know of it. There's something kind of comforting about it, certainly a feeling of nostalgia, even though this one was on before you had even been born.

The television begins to glow brighter.

Is that normal?
It's been so long since you've actually sat and watched the tv. Maybe it's always been like that.

Soon, the dark room is lit so brightly, you strain to see anything, except what looks like some kind of arm? coming out of the screen, straight for you.

The fingers of the hand attached to the arm, grasp you by the front of your shirt and with such a force, pulls you forward toward the television screen.

This is going to hurt, you think as the screen comes closer and closer to your face.

You brace for the impact but it doesn't come.

The brightness is completely gone and for a moment, it is dark again.
Seconds later, lights come on. You can see again.

You take a moment to collect your thoughts and while taking in your surroundings, you notice something very strange.

You are now standing in the kitchen that you were just watching on your television set.

There's a live audience sitting in seats looking right at you.
That laughter was real?

You hear a voice, but don't know where it's coming from.

"Welcome!" it says. "We are so glad you are here. We need your help."
