I know this is a very long post, but I'd appreciate it if you guys would read it. Would mean alot. Thanks. :)

I wanted to post this because I feel like I feel comfortable around you guys, and can post whatever without being judged or whatever. I like to call myself eccentric for this exact reason. I'm very passionate about my interests, which makes me standout personality-wise in an otherwise crowd full of people who try to hard to be someone their not. People respect me most because I stay myself, and make sure to truly be me and not be embarassed by it. Like at school for example. My teachers a lot of times pull me aside and want to talk to me, and are always interested in what I have to say. And I hold a very dear value to friendship, I am protective over friends who mean something to me, and try and create bonds not only on a 'joking' level, but also on levels where they can feel as if they can come to me if something isn't sitting right with them. And that I am interested in their interests as well as their personality. As long as they give me the respect that I feel I deserve, shall I show them how I really am personally. To the people I'm close to, it's usually a very special bond.

So I've had 3 names since I signed up on thia board. Started off as Miko due to my extreme fandom of Miko Hughes, I don't need to say the movies again, since y'all probably heard it like 2000 times now.

My second name was Adam due to my extreme musical fandom for Adam Young aka Owl City, and my similarites with him, mainly having a sleeping disorder as well as the same minor form of autism as I have (Which I try and ignore to talk about, but feel like I should bring it up here considering I'm talking about the guy that made me learn how to live with it, and not let it affect anything of what we put our minds too. Back in 2011, I was blurting it out on orgs and shit, I think Curtis can remember my obnoxiousness back then. I've grown so much since then, that I often can go months without thinking about my minor disorder. And btw, it's so minor people only notice something with social interaction when I go to in-depth about certain interests, but people would only notice if they'd really pay attention. I've adjusted to so much things, and I have a lot to thank to Owl City's inspiration. Some may be rolling their eyes now, and it may sound a bit too --fan-girly- or whatever. But he has been my 'muse' these last few years) and his obsessive interests in stuff he's interested and passionate about. I releate to a lot of stuff from him.

And my third name was Danny due to my extreme fandom for the Shining character Danny Torrance. I changed my name back to Miko last week because people kept on referring to me as Miko instead of Danny. So thought it would be handier to just put it back to what it first was. And because I've been watching alot of Miko Hughes films again lately.

But ANYWAYS, the reason I'm posting this is because Owl City announced that on July 10th he will release his fifth studio album... Every album has had differences compared to the other. His first album titled: 'Maybe I'm Dreaming', not really making a big impression with a lot of Indie/Ambient type songs. Which includes my favorites of Owl City being 'Sky Diver'. With 'Air Traffic' and 'I'll Meet You There' being in my top 5 favorite Owl City songs.

Spoiler+

His second album called 'Ocean Eyes' featured hits like: 'Fireflies', 'Vanilla Twilight', 'Umbrella Beach' and 'Hello Seattle'. Having a more calm, kind of dreamy-techno type music. Also featuring the song I used for my FTC question in Sausage Island 8: Morocco titled: 'Meteor Shower', I bet Igor still remembers it. :p

Spoiler+

His third album was called 'All Things Bright and Beautiful' being more in the 'eccentric-pop' type genre. If that's even a genre... whatevs, it is now. But it also holds a dear place in my heart, since it was that album that grew my obsessive interest in Owl City's music. With 'Deer in the Headlights' being the first song of his to catch my heart and never let it go. It was his least succesful album, but still having a hit in 'Alligator Sky' featuring Shawn Crystopher as well as 'Galaxies'.

Spoiler+

His fourth and most recent album being 'The Midsummer Station' featuring Electronic/Pop music, with even a little bit of dubstep (yuck) believe it or not... That one song I did not like. But I think it's universally accepted in the Owl City fandom that this fourth album is the least favorite thanks to the change of genre, and not having the same charm in lyrics or tune he had in past albums. But he had a pretty popular hit in 'Good Time' featuring Carly Rae Jepsen. Also 'Shooting Star' being relatively popular.

Spoiler+

He had a bunch of loose 'albums' if you will in 'Of June' being released around the same time as 'Maybe I'm Dreaming', and one being under a different name being 'Sky Sailing' with an album called 'An Airplane Carried Me to Bed' and his most recent one being 'Ultraviolet' featuring a lot of songs that had a lot of 'Midsummer Station' mixed with 'All Things Bright and Beautiful' type songs. And he also made songs for a bunch of disney movies as well that I never really got into due it being to intentionally childish.

So now to his most recent album that he announced a couple days ago titled 'Mobile Orchestra'. He said he'll be going to more slow and somewhat 'dark and sad' territory. So the same tune as his much loved nostalgic type songs in the 'Ocean Eyes'. Which I'm very, very excited about because we'll finally be getting a bit of our old Owl City back, mixed in with some of his new work as well. He ofcourse won't randomly drop his new type of songs. Which is also heard in his first song released for that album, titled: 'Verge' featuring Aloe Blacc. Which the music video will be released on Thursday, it's about Graduation, which is fitting considering I finished my final exams this week. Owl City said himself that that song would be the most cheerful and upbeat song of the album. He also teased more 'sad' songs to come in a re-imagining of his old song titled 'Garden Party'.

Spoiler+

The thing I love most about Owl City is his uniqueness in his songs, just listen to the lyrics and the sounds of mainly his early work... truly one of a kind.

I hope you guys liked this post. :)

Thanks for all the likes guys. And thanks for the reaction Yesfo, means alot. :)

Btw, I don't know if this will be in his new album, but I couldn't find the full song, and it's a relatively new 'preview' for a new song of his, so I'm assuming it will be in his new album, if that's the case it has a lot of 'Maybe I'm Dreaming' type vibes to it. Which is my favorite Owl City type music, so this really, really excites me. Here's to hoping for more songs like this in his new album.

The preview is only 30 seconds.

Time together is just never quite enough. When we're apart whatever are you thinking of? When you and I are alone I've never felt so at home. What will it take to make or break this hint of love? We need time...only time.

Owl City- Verge ft. Aloe Blacc

- Miko's Track Review:

'Verge' music video came out yesterday. And ofcourse I think it's absolutely amazing! Genieunly think it's one of his most creative music videos. He sings it together with Aloe Blacc. I personally believe the rawness of Aloe's voice together with Adam's soothing smooth voice, is very unique.

What's also pretty cool is that my 2 favorite part of the songs is at 0:21 when Adam Young (Owl City) starts singing for the first time. And my other favorite part is at 2:34 when Aloe starts singing. Portraying why I think they together both made this track perfect.

Here is the video for your viewing pleasure. (:

Here is a little update on his new album 'Mobile Orchestra'.

Posted Image

Track List:
1. Verge (feat. Aloe Blacc)
2. I Found Love
3. Thunderstruck (feat. Sarah Russell)
4. My Everything
5. Unbelievable (feat. Hanson)
6. Bird With a Broken Wing
7. Back Home (feat. Jake Owen)
8. Can’t Live Without You
9. You’re Not Alone (feat. Britt Nicole)
10. This Isn’t the End

With 'Verge', 'You're Not Alone' and 'This Isn't the End' already being out. 'You're Not Alone' being first a seperate single before his album was announced, will be included in this album. With 'This Isn't the End' being a part of the minature album 'Ultraviolet'. Which is quite cool. But I'd hav e preferfed 'Tokyo' to be in the album instead of 'You're Not Alone'.

But having Jake Owen in the album seems really cool, I don't think Owl City has ever sang with a male country singer.

Am way curious to seeing what this album has to offer. But based off of the 'You're Not Alone' and 'This Isn't the End' songs being released, I'm having a feeling the rest of the songs will be having little 'All Things Bright and Beautiful' mixed with 'Midsummer Station' vibes. Which were in comparasion my two least favorite albums, but I still love them m ajorly ofcourse. (It's like saying who you like least out of Daenerys, Jon, Tyrion and Baelish. It's near impossible, but you still HAVE to choose. Even though you love all 4 of them). But I do have to say he also has a sort of new feel to his song, a more stellar pop type direction. Which will either be hit or miss.

Here's to hoping that my wish of having 'Maybe I'm Dreaming' and/or 'Ocean Eyes' vibes in this new album will still occur. But either way I'm happy, cause his new album has ofcourse new songs, as well as a distinct different vibe compared to his other albums. As he cleverly does with every new album of his.

I'm impressed. :)

Miko I forgot to post this story, I think you'll like it. This account is 100% truth just as a forewarning. It's not even a huge deal but just thought I'd throw out a disclaimer.

Back around my sophmore year of high school I started dating this "alternative" lifestlye chick (but back then we were all discovering who we were lol) anyway she was super into this "genre" of music. Me being young and impressionable and wanting to have things in common decided to try out some of her music. She recommended Owl City.

The big song at the time (and it wasn't even big) was Rainbow Veins. That is THE song that got me into Owl City and probably still my favorite. Then Saltwater Room hooked me even more.

Now this was back when Myspace was big. So I went to Owl Cities Myspace page because this was not long before he was supposed to release Ocean Eyes. A lot of promotion for it and a couple of songs like Hot Air Balloon were released as a tease.

This was also when AIM was big (idk how some of you still use it Skype is the 2015 messenger) anyway I saw that he had his AIM on his Myspace. Now even though he was not mainstream or big by this point at all I still assumed he would never actually be on or if so it'd be a self promoting type AIM or something. Alas I added his AIM which I believe was liveforowls or owlsaremyfriends....or something to do with Owls. My memory is foggy.

Now on AIM you could tell someone was offline cause their name was faded and in italics. When I added him right away faded and italics. Figured he wouldn't be on. I played a lot of ORGs so I was constantly on AIM checking my AIM looking at my AIM. Weeks if not months passed then one day I see owlsaremyfriends was online. My 16 year old self was excited. NO WAY ADAM of OWL CITY IS ON MY AIM.

Thinking that he either wouldn't answer me or that Maybe I'm dreaming my first and stupidest mistake was using a curse word in my first reply to him.

Simpltonx: No way
Simpltonx: you've got to be fucking kidding me
Simpltonx: Is this adam?

A few minutes no reply...in my shock I didn't even think that Adam is a kindspoken person and probably doesn't or at least didn't condone cursing. I ruined it...I ruined it

A minute after I had given up hope.

Adam: Hey there
Adam: Yes this is Adam

HE REPLIED. Now my memory of the chat afterwards is foggy. But I told him I enjoyed his music and he said oh thats great. I said yeah i see you have a new album coming out can you give me any cool inside news or scoop you haven't told the public.

He basically told me all about the number of songs...a couple that he was planning on releasing and the release date before the public knew. It was awesome.

So he didn't chat for long but he said he was busy and he was just checking in while he had a break. He logged off and I don't believe I ever saw him online again. I certainly never talked to him or saw him online. He did get big a couple months after that though with the release of Ocean Eyes...or at least bigger.

Now this was before he got big. It could have been a manager or a friend on his account but I doubt it. I'm sure I talked to Adam on AIM for 10 minutes once years and years ago.

I didn't plan on going into this much detail but I know how much you adore Adam so I figured I'd tell you all about it.

Hope you enjoyed.

Thanks for sharing that story Simplton! :)

Btw, he has released the track 'My Everything' a couple of weeks back, and noticed just now that I hadn't done a track review in this thread yet about it. Not much will read it, but incase people are interested. :)

Owl City ~ My Everything (TRACK REVIEW)

I totally love it, the beginning of the song reminds me of a song from The Script, who I am not a big fan of, but the thought that Adam's voice will follow makes up for it. :p

But now onto my true thoughts about it. It sounds really, really good. I notice the song regards god. Adam is proud to be a Christian, he usually has 1-2 songs per album regarding his bond with god. I myself don't believe in any religion, so I can't see this song's lyrics from the same point of view as Adam. BUT the beauitful thing about this song, is that the lyrics shape in a way that you don't have to see it as god who he is singing about, but as someone who you yourself truly cares about.

Except from a few phrases though that literally mentioned god. But I like the fact that even though he is a Christian and truly cherishes his bond with god. He is still acceptive of other lifestyles, I know the stereotype that surrounds the Christians about stuff like that. So I definitley appreciate that Adam breaks EVERYTHING about the Christian stereotypes. Even though I'll forever stay an 'atheist', I now am more open to how Christians are and that I shouldn't only base my opinion off of news reports and stereotypes, cause that's not cool.

See look, that's the cool laid back guy that Adam Young really is. <3

But this isn't a religious debate or whatever. I'll now continue a bit more about the song:

I love the transitioning of night/day time. When it's night, the song portrays despairity and the he needs (for his case) god to help him out and pull him back up. And once it transitions to day-time you notice that his lyrics become optimistic. Very creative!!

And I just love the song in general, it has such a soothing tone to it, and isn't like forced or in your face like most songs are nowadays. Another thing I absolutely adore about Adam!! :)

And last is I just love his quirkiness in the music video. Just absolutely love it!!

But at the end of the day it's his voice that steals the show, like seriously that voice has to be the most soothing and beautiful voice I've ever heard!!

Now I just have to wait 2 and a half more weeks till his full album comes out!! Am honestly sooo excited!!

He is releasing a new song titled 'Unbelievable' on Friday, but it has already been leaked online, which is a bummer, but at the same time means I get to enjoy it more now. :) But will make a track review of it when the actual music video comes out, but for the people who already wanna hear it, here it is.

People who grew up in the 90's are gonna LOVE this song -SO MANY 90'S REFERENCES!!- (I didn't grow up in through the entirety of the 90's, only a bit of the latter half and the early 00's, but I still can relate to alot of stuff he's saying in this song):

SOOO LOVE IT!! <3 So may nostalgic factors, and can truly hear me and his similairties!! Gosh, I sooo love this, my new favorite song!!!! Would LOVE to hear your guys' feedback on this song, as I am curious on what you guys think.
