just got jump scared by karen

Anyway I've been trying out Finch and enjoying it so far! I've been using it as a way to gameify doing some organizational work in my house mostly. When my parents moved in after my grandma died we ended up with two households' worth of stuff to organize, put away, go through, sell, shred, etc, and when my aunt moved and we took some of her stuff she couldnt sell, so things have been a huge mess! And its easy to just put off progress until I can devote a whole day to it. So I've been using the app as a way to do some bite sized daily progress instead. Surprisingly helpful!

Also trying to get on the water drinking train

The other day i wanted to get a ton of stuff done so i loaded finch up with every pie in the sky project and errand and chore I could think of. Got to start my adventure just on plans alone! Actually got a TON done, i included a few break/fun tasks too so i was really zooming through it, every time i started to burn out i realized i could take a break and do one of my fun goals, really chained everything together. Didn't finish everything but it was impressive!

Unfortunately instead of skipping/canceling the ones i didnt do i snoozed them and i have NOT been as motivated since, so i am guiltily snoozing a lot of stuff every day, especially since i'm busy prepping for a trip

i also tried a journey to do the steps of a project, only to decide halfway through the project that it's better off not getting finished, so i had to guiltily delete that too.

I think tomorrow all my extraneous tasks are CANCELLED, clean slate

I'm still going strong, going with a goal of redoing my bird and my treehouse for each month, not necessarily by their themes tho.

I'm still at a point where i'm overloading goals and then getting frustrated, but its been a big help for small little tasks i'd otherwise put off for months. That little boost of "well if i do this now at least I can get a few points on Finch" is doing a lot of good

I wish there was a way to have more Weekly goals or seasonal goals that arent on the daily list, and i REALLY wish there was a way to make tasks sequential, so you write out like 5 major steps of something and you dont have those later goals until the first part is done. Since I'm using this for a few different things (decluttering + home improvement, trying to get back into making art after a LONG art block, trying to make sure I actually keep up with summer watchlists and reading lists, keeping on top of my gardening, etc) I'm ending up with really cluttered goals as is!

I also finished my first location, so I decided to go back to finchie forest. Felt weird that I left it unexplored!

I didn't realize you could organize by journey. That does help a ton! I'll have to reorganize my journeys and maybe start some new ones but i think this will help a lot
