Great game. Interesting concept, and for the people that like Overwatch (never played myself), they seemed to really be into it.

Only comment is that I don't know if Town could have ever won, unless they got super lucky. With no real way to 'find' scum, the only thing they could have done is use voting records, or claimed all their roles and info on D1, and try to catch people lying. I realize it wasn't your standard mafia game, but I just don't see how town could have won.

Balancing was super difficult for this game with so many powers in play. I went back and forth quite a bit before it started, tweaking roles constantly

Obviously I'm gonna say I disagree and I think the game was pretty balanced mechanically, despite the lopsided result. I made the mafia pretty strong because of how many powers the town had. The fact is, almost none of the town actually used their powers well. Scum were hardly hit all game. If the town had even slightly better reads, I feel like this game could've looked drastically different, just because of the wide array of powers in play

As for the investigation roles, I maybe could've added one more (which I considered), but I don't think not adding this made it IMPOSSIBLE. Far from it really. Reading into lynches should always be the town's strongest investigation tactic. And I think that was especially so in this game since there was more to the votes in this game because of the ult incentive - there was more to read into since certain people (the mafia in particular) were trying to hop on/stay away from certain trains because they knew how many Ult points it'd give them, rather than just thinking about "looking good"

I think bottom line is mafia just plain played a much better game. IMO!

I get that you tried to balance things, and did what you thought was right. I thought it was a fun game.

With all the attacks that were possible, only mafia knew who was town and who wasn't. So they could coordinate their attacks and hit only town. Town on the other hand, had very little to go on, and even if lucky, would hit mafia less than 50% of the time. So, this means that somewhere between 2/3 and 3/4 of all attacks would go to town members. It's tough to over come that when all the town members keep getting lynched.

I totally agree with you that the mafia played a better day-phase game than town. Town got fixated and led themselves astray. However, the night-phase game was slanted heavily against Town (imo), which didn't help out during following day-phases. For the most part, Town was shooting relatively blind the whole game, and it just so happened that they missed, badly, the whole game (well, other than TIB and I -- go team!).

That said, if you offered this game again, I would sign up in a heartbeat. Thanks for running it.

One thing I do wanna note is that the mafia only had Timmah, Merc, Vlady, and Dylan as far as attackers go. And Timmah could only attack every other night, while Vlady never used his actual attack ability once and instead opted for the protective role

So it was only Merc and his 100 HP attack that was attacking nightly for the mafia

So Town really did kill the rest of Town!

I think if town did better in the days and if Mafia did worse, Mafia would've been sitting ducks at night with all the attacks that would've come our way. Not only that, but if town were lynching scum then they'd be closer to ults and we'd be further. Ultimately it comes down to the day phases and accurate or inaccurate reads (as it should imo). If either faction did poorly in the days then their lives got a lot harder at night

How do you suggest Town 'improve' their reads during the days? What would they have gone one?

They went after people acting scummy -- they were town.

They went after people on lynch trains trying to game ult points -- they were town.

They went after people who were inactive, thinking they may be lurking scum -- they were town.

Not sure what else they would have had to go on?

I forgot you were a follow the cop loyalist, my mistake

I doubt you realize just how funny this comment is coming from you to me.

That said, I'm not a cop loyalist. You can learn a ton of information without needing to lazily wait for a cop to give you info. I think town needs at least a small ability to gain useful information, and it didn't look like it had it here.

Now, like others have suggested, if there was a small mason-type group that could communicate with each other, I think that would have made a significant difference. They could have helped to steer town away from some bad reads, and helped to flesh out all the scummy plays by the mafia group.
