Oh, goodness me. I see my reputation has seriously preceded me.

I did actually have an ad worked up for the game, but I wound up having enough pre-game interest that I didn't need to post them.

Basically, the game will function similarly to Labyrinth. Every character will have a role, and players will all be moving around a map attempting to kill one another. Different spots on the map have different items and/or special conditions, and every day new sections of the map will become off-limits, gradually forcing everybody together.

The map has a lot of different things that you can experiment with, and you're free to try literally anything you can think of with whatever you find lying around.

Mmyes. It's not like Lab, in that everybody essentially has the same win condition, and you're not wandering around in search of anything in particular. However, the map should have enough stuff that could foster discussion, and it's always a good idea for group members to discuss where they're going to go next, who's going to do what action, etctera.

The game does have limited social interaction, and will be alias. There are two reasons for this, both of them due to the fact that I want this experience to essentially mirror what it would actually be like to play the game. Number one, it's a lot more conducive to betrayal and deceit, which are very Royale-ian qualities. Number two, it increases the chance of random encounters. Most other BR games that I've seen have revolved around different alliances agreeing to avoid one another, which is completely unrealistic within the scenario, and often winds up with several consecutive days of nobody dying at all.

No. Then it's just a "who has more free time" contest. Survival hinges on a combination of luck and strategy. The actual outcome of a fight sequence is determined by a dice roll, which is augmented by bonuses and penalties acquired by your actions throughout the game. It's balanced so that the bonuses won't ever make you invincible, but they'll increase your odds enough that it's not a waste of time to pursue them.

Timewise, it'll require about the same amount of time as a standard mafia game, perhaps less, depending on how you choose to play. Check-ins start on July 3rd, and run until the 6th, at which point the game begins.

Now, with regards to casting, I do currently have enough interest to run the game, but I'm very likely going to extend the cast to accommodate extra players. If you're interested, please drop me a PM.

I agree with the limited interaction element, are there any NPC or major "plots"/side plots that could create discussion?

And with regard to the battle mechanic, so basically every round you have the option to attack, work with the other person or just walk away?

@Kiwi: There may or may not be. According to the canon there are a crapload of soldiers on the island. If you intentionally piss them off (and, yes, there are a few ways to do that), then you'd wind up with a Cerberus-type scenario where the soldiers would be out hunting.

There's also the option to attempt an escape. Doing so requires you to actually put a decent amount of thought into it, but it makes for a very interesting game.

However, both of those scenarios require the players to actually instigate the action. Otherwise, it's a straight-up kill fest.

Regarding the battle mechanic, it's a bit complicated. After all, you have to actor in the notion that other students might actually be your friend. If you run into someone who legitimately is not interested in attacking you, would you be inclined to kill them? Would you keep an injured teammate around, or kill them to get their weapon?

There are rules regarding this on the board, which you can read by going to battle-royale-rpg.proboards.com (accounts currently require approval, and you will be assigned an account Lab- or ATTWS- style upon joining, so there's no point signing up yet), but basically if you run into someone that you have no personal interest in keeping alive, you will fight them. Allies, on the other hand, can be betrayed at any time for any reason, and doing that will actually give you a bonus.

I want to do a Game of Thrones (specifically Clash of Kings / War of the Five Kings) Mafia. I don't know how long it will take me to come up with a solid idea for it, but I figure I should probably try my hand at hosting something of my own before Labyrinth 3 comes around. So squirrel me away in the corner of the queue somewhere.

I'll make it spoiler free so that anyone that hasn't seen the show/read the books won't have anything in the story ruined for them.

Hmm... I'll be hosting a game called 'Breakout' (tentative title), as stated previously by others it'll be a Lab kinda game but with some other quirks to it (Luca, you've started a tendency in board games). It'll be on an external board, and if everything goes along fine, it'll be soon enough (if nobody objects to it, obviously).
I used to travel the universe, but settled for parks.
