bad movie not enough lens flare and too many plot holes like when they were ambushed wtf was that dumb 1/10

Definitely an immersive experience and DEFINITELY a movie I don't think I'll watch again.. I'm glad I saw it in a theater because it wouldn't nearly be as good on my tiny laptop.

I will say that It's technically shot beautifully and the soundtrack really carries the tension of the FLICK. The problem for me was that there were quite a few moments that really held me in suspense but didn't seem to last long enough or hold enough character weight to have an impact on me. I get that it might not be the point of the movie, that we're watching a countries' experience and not necessarily an individual's journey but it doesn't change the fact for me that I just didn't care about anyone.

I love the confrontation on the civilian boat, the toast and jam boat going under and the soldier setting them free, and of course the whole scene where they're being shot at from within the boat leading to the French solider reveal. All these scenes were great but I think they lacked the emotional weight that would have helped raise the tension even higher. Also if I do ever watch it again I think I'll add a drinking game. -Drink every time an airplane drops a bomb. -Drink every time someone longingly looks into the sky -Drink every time someone says "home" -Drink every time there's a time skip and you're not really sure it happened.

It's similar to Avatar in the aspect that it's more of an experience than something with content. And just like Interstellar and Inception it would probably be considered bad if not for the soundtrack and trembling bass. Well not bad but not good.

I don't know why but I believe what frosty dude said here! Nolan knows how to bring shit to the screen, but he is certainly no KUBRICK, and his movies aren't nearly as EPIC as people make 'em out to be.
