Thoughts on the new Corvette anyone?

My knee jerk reaction is they have shit the bed. I like the body styles all the way up til ‘84 thru ‘04.

Loved the sting rays in the mid ‘70s. But my favorite was the last few years models. Just love them.

But this new mid engine thing doesn’t look anything like a vette. I’m trying to reserve judgment until I can see one on the street.

Idk man that's a good looking car. Def doesn't look like a corvette though. I prefer the design of the 19 but this thing is p sexy if you pretend it's not a vette

Exactly, it’s not a Vette. It’s a mid engine super car.

So no one got the point of this thread. I’m not terribly surprised.

It’s not about if the car looks good. It’s about Chevrolet dramatically turning away from what made the Corvette unique. Now the Corvette is just another super sports car. Nothing uniquely Corvette about it.

The very first thing you mention is the body style so how were you not asking about if the car looks good? I think the Vette is the best American sports car but I'll gladly take a Supra or Skyline (in the order) 100% of the time.

It's pretty, but let's not get all crazy and call it a supercar.

What has made the vette unique is the price tag, and completely laughable handling.

If I had to pick favorite vettes, this would be about 3rd behind the true roadsters of the 50's and the split window in 63.

Then probably the mid 80's body style change thr4ough current models.

The 70's and early 80's stingrays are dead last with the exception of a few limited run special models.


I feel the opposite about the camaro, though. The mid-80's body change was a turd and stayed that way until they did the retro models.
