Hi!

So I know I've been kind of quiet for the first couple of days, so I just want to assure you all that I am here and ready to play! What I'm gonna do in this first confessional is share a few things about myself, then move on to first impressions.

Introducing Myself

To begin, this is my second ORG ever. I am 23 years old, and a big fan of Survivor, but I have only ever seen one episode of Big Brother. I think it'll be really exciting to see how my familiarity with one show and not the other plays out in this game. Last time I played, I didn't win many immunities over the pre-merge. I had to come out strong in order to survive, but that made me a massive target in the post-merge and I was an early merge boot. Compounding that was my stupid decision to not interact with people nearly as often as I should be. This game is about forming bonds, and I'm going to be making a lot more of those this time around.

I selected Kelly Sharbaugh for two reasons. The first is that I always try to play unassuming characters in ORGs. People playing as Yul or Stephen automatically have assumptions made about them, even if they're not true. Nobody will assume anything about Kelly, because she probably isn't very high in the minds of many people. I want that blank slate. The second reason is that I had a major crush on her during Samoa, so I'm happy to try to represent her to a better finish!

First Impressions

So I was placed on the Jarana tribe. Here's a rundown of my tribemates, as I see it.

Dolly: She seems really sweet. I worked with her on the pair challenge, because we really had to put at least some effort in. I enjoyed my time with her, and hopefully she's enjoyed it enough to be social and forthright with me.

RC: Haven't spoken too much with her, but she referred to herself and me as the "normal" ones in the tribe. That can only bode well. I'm memorable enough not to be first boot, but I haven't pissed anyone off either.

Shontayla/PG: Hasn't spoken much with me. Had a fight with Lindsey that got a little heated, even though it started kind of jokey. Not sure what to think of her, but I wouldn't mind seeing her go.

Lindsey: Had a fight with Shontayla, but is much more open with me. If I have to pick one firecracker, I'm gonna pick the social one.

Amanda: Who?

Ian: Who? I really hope he chats more, otherwise he's wasting my favourite survivor ever.

Frankie: Haven't spoken to him much at all. Evel Dick seems to not be a fan of IRL Frankie, so I'm not sure if that will transition over. As long as it's not me.

Evel Dick: Very social. Likes to chat about many things. Seems a little abrasive, or interested in playing a character, which I don't like. Still, he seems like someone to stick with, if only because he'll provide a bigger target. He's in Hawaii, which could provide some conflicts. I'm in-between on him.

Kelly S: I like this chick.

Jerri: Really playing up the "Jerri is a whore" angle. Not a fan.

Rafe: Haven't spoken to him, don't know what to think.

Overall, I think this is a weirdly argumentative tribe that I'm just gonna try to stay in the middle of for the time being. As long as I put in my best work, the big personalities won't focus on me. When we get further in the game, then I'll be making some big decisions as to what I want to do to move forward.

We won the challenge, which means we get to avoid any hard choices. Amanda sounds like she would have been the early first boot; she's inactive as all hell, and no one wants to make hard choices. The drama continues, with Rafe and Lindsey going at it, which is totally fine for me. I think I've done a pretty good job of keeping myself in the middle. I doubt I'll get picked in Red Rover, and I also doubt that I'd be the first boot. I plan on staying the course for a bit.

I've done a lot of speaking to Dick and Rafe, a bit to Lindsey and Dolly. I plan on making an effort to speak to everyone at least once a day - not about strategy, that would be suicide, but just in general - y'know, a "hey, how are you." If I'm a likeable person that isn't getting in the way of these monster egos, it can only be a good thing.

So happy we won! Top 30 yo!

So not a lot else going on with me today. I am trying to stay low key. I don't really care who comes over to our tribe, so I just echoed what others were saying. They may have an ulterior motive to bringing over either Fabio or Ryan, but I don't care at this point. I'm not on anyone's radar.

I have to go to a friend's party tonight, so I won't be able to participate in the live challenge. I'm reeeeaallly hoping that doesn't bite me, so I'm gonna do my best to give it my all in the non-live part.
