This ship...I remember it's type well from my time on Europa.

Presses ear to walls.

I bet I can figure out where the others ended up, if they managed to stay alive...

Yes. If there's a zero, it means they're neither direction that way.

Ok this grid square system makes these results a lot easier to interpret, there is just one thing I am not quite certain about.

Do grid squares in the room you are standing in count too?

Like, we entered this room from the East, into the northernmost side where the elevator is. But had entered from the south, would my results have been different this phase? Would the player I detected have been 4 grid squares North instead of 2?

It's exclusive of your room.

Sorry to be a pain mission control, but I'm still not 100% confident about my role, so I am going to put my questions across through a few example results, to see if I am doing this properly. Before I totally fuck up everybody's maps!

Would these hypothetical results and assumed locations be accurate:

(The Orange star represents me, and the Blue one represents a detected player)

0 Floors Up, 2 Grid Squares North, 0 Squares East
Posted Image

Taking that last example, say that the room the detected player was in was extended North by two grid squares, and they had entered the room via the Northern side. I imagine that the result will be the same as last time, but just to confirm...

0 Floors Up, 2 Grid Squares North, 0 Squares East
Posted Image

The next situation hasn't come up yet, but no doubt it will at some point:

0 Floors Up, 0 Grid Squares North, 3 Grid Squares East
OR
0 Floors Up, 3 Grid Squares North East?
Posted Image

I'm not sure how situations like that will be handled.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I should be able to pinpoint the nearest players EXACT position with any results I get, shouldn't I?

I might have made a few too many assumptions about the role, and perhaps that is not the case.

Again, sorry to keep bugging you on this! But once I get it, I should have no problems. Answers to these examples should clear everything up.

Ah, the grid square refers to how the map is sized, with each "square" being one space on the room layout you see in the room description. Prior to the start of last phase, these images were simply posted as a single room, but I've broken them up into "grid squares" due to request. The squares refer to these squares, and not the actual room count.

Example 1: 4 squares North
Example 2: 5 squares North
Example 3: 3 squares North, 3 squares East.

When it comes to large rooms, the assumption is you are always present inside the grid square nearest to the exit you just came in from. So if you have a 2x1 room and you came in the North exit, you'll be in the North-most grid square for your role's purposes.
